Greetings. I am just checking some information after being confused by conducting a search via the internet. I drive a 2003 X-Type that was manufactured 08/02. Does my vehicle have the "all time - full time" all wheel drive? I wanted to make sure and thought I would reach-out to some of the experts associated with this forum. Many thanks in advance.

 

Yes you do..I had an 03 too..I think the power split is like 60/40 and when there is some rear wheel slipage, the power split changes automatically to 50/50... I could be wrong about the exact percentage..but it is automatic all the time AWD.

 

Bill, you have a USA bound X-TYpe which 100% of them were AWD. ONly the ones that have the 2.1L motor that were for the European market (and maybe a few other markets) were front wheel drive. I am sure that there are a few other oddities out there, but that is the short of the list. So, if you see an X-Type in North America, it will most definitely be an AWD version.
