Default Cigarette Lighter Bulb question.

Before I ask another question...I wanted to let you all know how great I think these forums are and I appreciate all of the advise. I have saved money and made much wiser decisions after doing research on here.

Question:
I am assuming that the cigarette lighter is supposed to be illuminated when the dash lights are switched on? If so, my bulb needs to be replaced. Has anyone one done this before? Tips or information appreciated.

Cheers

I got to mine when I had the radio out. It's not an easy fix, the bulb in on the outer sleeve so you have to have your hand under it to access it.

Good luck.

PS, where in Vancouver are you?

Default found it...

I had a new stereo installed yesterday and while the installer had everything apart I found exactly what you are talking about.

Only mistake I made was removing the bulb...which of course triggered the dreaded "yellow engine" light due to the detected voltage change.

I'm on the west side of Vancouver...u?

I grew up in Kerrisdale, went to Point but now live in the Burbs, Langley.

How did that Double Din thing fit?

The easier way to replace the bulb is to remove the ashtray itself. this is how you do it.
1. Remove the J-gate cover(Cover below the gear lever)
2. Remove two screws holding the ash tray.
3. Remove the ash tray
4. Replace the bulb.
Thats it, 5 minutes job.

Thats exactly right. Now that I think about it the thing unplugged when I pulled the radio out.

Default Bulb part #

Does anyone know what part number the bulb is? I have been to several auto parts store and have not been able to match it up. Rock Auto doesn't list it??
