Default CLUNK goes the clutch/gears/t box?

Hi Everyone,

I seem to be having an on going issue with my car which appears (from the noise getting louder) worse.

Everytime I press on the accelerator (in any gear) I hear a clunk noise before I get power to the wheels. This also happens when I change gear and bring the clutch out, and also when I take the clutch out whilst moving.

Now it hasn't stopped my from driving but just in case I have made the smoothest gear changes and accelerations I have ever done in my life.

The sound appears to be coming from the rear of the car and judging from the relationship with acceleration/gears I would assume something to do with the gearbox? Could anyone enlighten me on what the actual issue might be at all?

Cheers!

You might want to check the drive shaft(s) you might have a bad joint and easy to check by simply twisting them to test for play, same goes for the rear hubs & brakes. if the drive train is in good condition, then have the gearbox checked.
