Code p1647
Good morning,
I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
I got a code of P1647 bank 2 upstream O2 and replaced it and cleared the code, then after about 3 miles the check engine light cam back on, and sure enough the same code reappeared.
Anu ideas of what it could be?
Thank you, Sean

First question is did you replace it with OEM or one of the troublesome eBay cheap ones?

Correct, I was just not sure which color wires in the terminal I am supposed to check the voltage and ohms on. On the upstream, sensor side am I supposed to check the ohms reading across the 2 black wires?
There are 4 wires on the upstream bank 2. 1 white, 1 blue and 2 black. Does anyone know on the sensor side which ones I am supposed to take the ohms reading on and which ones on the harness side that I am supposed to take the voltage reading on?
Thank you
Thank you

Ok update. I worked on it this weekend and I have ohms readings on both upstream sensors of 1.2 I have power going to Bank 2 upstream. I attached a test light across the heater circuit wires and turned on the ignition and the test light lit up for a few seconds and then turned off. I hooked up the scanner and it is showing no voltage fluctuation reading for both upstream sensors. Erase code and it comes right back. Has anyone had this problem before. I am at a loss! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
PROBLEM SOLVED! I spending hours testing, I ran across an article online talking of fake Denso O2 sensors, and sure enough The first one I purchased off Amazon was a fake. Bought a new one at a local parts store last night and problem gone.
On the Lexus forum but still applies of how to spot a fake Denso sensor (no part number ON the sensor = real, WITH a part number = fake) =

The #4 about the lead wire is interesting. This might be a major reason so many eBay and Amazon clones cause problems.
