Hi....My 07 X-Type did not come with navigation, so when necessary I use a GPS unit. I do however like to know what direction I am going in, without a cord going up my dash. I found a rearview mirror with a compass and auto dimming on Ebay for $19 including shipping, from a late 90s Buick. I already have the outside temp on my climate control, so I didn't need need that on the mirror just to confuse me. I removed the clip on the middle of the mount with a very thin, almost sharp screwdriver, and the shoe was the same as most American cars. I looked up the install wiring on Google, and ended up connecting a black and green wire together for a ground, and the yellow wire for ignition on power, using a wire tap on a wire from the sunroof motor. I covered all the wires in shrink tubing for a factory touch. It was a nice upgrade, and the entire operation took 45 minutes from beginning to end. Since the mirror on my Jag was a gentex also, it looks factory......Just thought I would throw this out there, in case someone else wants to do the upgrade.....Be cool.....Mike
