Question Coolant hoses

I posted a thread regarding this but got no hits. It was probably too long winded, so people lost interest. Sorry!

Short and sweet:

2003 X-Type 2.5 needs coolant hoses, basically all of them.

What do you guys use?

OEM only?

The reason I ask is that OEM is a lot more expensive, but I've read that some aftermarket hoses collapse or leak at the connector.

Thank you!!!!

My opinion here only. You don't replace the hoses very often, if it were me I would buy the OEM hoses. My reasoning is, hoses on your car are probably original and lasted over ten years. The OEM hoses will fit properly and be the proper composition for you car.

Thank you. I do agree, but I saw that OEM hoses would end up costing sooooooo much more. I was hoping to go further with my summer readiness dollars. Chances are good that I'll do exactly what you suggested though. Thanks again!

You're welcome, and thanks for the post back. They are that much more expensive because they fit and they are the proper one's for your car. Hope you get another ten years out of the new one's.

When I had to replace my thermostat I went ahead and bought all new coolant hoses since I was going to be unhooking them all anyway. It came as one assembly and install went smooth as glass. Minus some busted knuckles. Got em from jagbits.com, was worth it.
