Default Coolant Leak

I have coolant leaking on the bottom of my car, I took a picture of where it looks like it is leaking from, It looks like that black piece is a rubber seal, is that true? If so is that where it is most likely coming from? that is what it seems like to me. What is that seal called, how hard is it to replace, and how much should it cost?

Thanks,
-Compdude97

the black piece in the picture is the thermostat housing. There is a gasket there but i would just change the whole housing. I believe it comes with the upper hose and thermostat. Just make sure its not leaking from further above where the water pump is located

I have changed the gasket on that connector, its very cheap but is quite a time consuming job working manly on your back from under the car, but its doable. I'll dig the part number out if you need it.

If you could dig up the part number that would be awesome. I didn't change the thermostat so I didn't crack the housing, I am positive it is that gasket, it stops leaking when it cools down and starts when it heats up.

JagKing, it isn't leaking from the thermostat gasket, it is leaking from the black gasket to the right of the themostat, I believe it is the water rail gasket, but want to confirm that belief.

The part number for the seal (gasket) is C2S11282, it cost less than £2 here in uk.

compdude97,

Did you successfully make this repair?
Does it require a coolant system drain?
I have a slow leak in the exact location and ordered the gasket today.
Had the thermostat replaced a year ago, so I was just going to replace the gasket and not the whole upper hose.
