Coolant loss
I have noticed over the past few months that I am slowly losing coolant but I can't see any hose/joint leaks. The last time I explained to the garage they did a blocked test and said it was ok. They topped it up but I have just checked and it is now near the bottom of the reservoir. Ok it's 7 weeks since I had it topped up and block tested so it's not leaking a lot - the car has never overheated - any ideas where it's getting out?

Get a telescoping mirror and look at the waterpump gasket to hosing. Do a sniff test thru the vents to the heater/AC vents. Under car check drains to the A/C heater box. One or 2 rubber hoses or valves on one or both sides of transmission. Check for antifreeze. Tighten all hose clamps, you will see antifreeze/calcium build up if leaking.
Royston, I just fixed a leak similar to this on my car this weekend. I am not sure if my leak was coming from the mating surface of where the thermostat seats to the plastic tee, where the tee connects to the block (this is what I was thinking was the most likely spot based on where the coolant was before I started tearing into things), or if it was coming from the joint on the tee (where the 2 plastic pieces join).
I tore into my car and spent most of the day getting it all apart, putting in new hoses, and putting it all back together. A lot of the hoses I simply found a suitable hose at the local parts store. Granted, the one hose that goes from the tee to the front side of the engine I could not find a suitable replacement (makes a step change in hose size on each end) and I could not find a replacement for the S hose that goes between the tee for the heater core and the overflow bottle. But, both of these hoses seemed to be in pretty good shape on my car, so I re-used them. So far the leakage seems to have stopped.
A very slow leak like you are describing is normally coming from the shaft seal on the water pump. But, it may be possible that one of your hoses has developed a small leak too. So, a little bit of looking will be needed.
