Default Creakin'/ groanin' {the car!}

X Series 2002 2.50 ….replaced all tires plus balance and alignment..went to an 18” tire from a 17” on service shop recommendation…car drivingwell /steering OK etc. BUT now up to 40 mph I can hear creeks and groans comingfrom {I think} wheels? /suspension? /shocks?/some from steering wheel?
Friend suggested a good lube job and noise could be theeffect of larger tires on suspension? I am thinking alignment but it drives sowell not sure? Anyone had similarissues?

First there isn't really anything you could just pull up at a garage and lubed. It sounds as though with the tire size change the suspension position has changed ever so slightly and revealed the worn parts.
1. Sway bar bushings.
2. Sway bar connection links.
3. Lower shock bushings.

You have to realize the rubber parts are decades old and not only wear but stiffen with age.

You are probably hearing squeaking as the steering wheel is turned (even slightly). This is very common, and it is harmless. Jaguar specified an additive to be used in the steering system but there is a protocol for its use. Sometimes it does cure the squeaking, sometimes not.

If the motor was running sweetly before the wheel upgrade it's a perfect example of "if it aint broke don't fix it"
What did the guy say the advantages of the tyre size change would be?
