Default cruise

Cruise quit working. Once in a while it'll come on, bu mostly not. Checked all vac lines & replaced broken t's etc, but no good. Heard the brake light switch might be the problem. Any suggestions?
Thanx

Default RE: cruise

Sorry. Thot it was understood I turned the cruise on.
I reach speed. Push the button on console to "ON" for cruise. Indicator lite comes on. I press "SET" button on steering wheel. Cruise does not engage. Sometimes it feels like it is trying to, but dosn't. Once in a while it does, but when I step on the brake to slow down it won't re-engage. Checked all vac lines, found some breaks in plastic "T"s etc, replaced them. No fix. Also, safe engine mode comes on once in a while and, of course, cruise goes off. Cleaned MAF w/circuit cleaner. Seems 2 have helped w/ "safe engine mode", still comes on intermittently. No permanent OBD codes. Thot I read somewhere brake pedal would do that 2 cruise. Pulled it out 2 look. Both switches seem 2 work according 2 VOM meter. BUT other electronics in switch. Stupid Brits!
