Unhappy Cruise control not available

Dear All,

First of all I would like to say Hello! to all Jag fans
I'm owner of X-Type '05 3.0 that I really love
Unfortunately recently something bad happend - when I was driving in dense fog I didn't saw on time quite deep hole in the road and I felt quite big shock. After that car was driving ok but "cruise control not available" warning appeared. After 40mins of driving I stopped and turned off the car. When I started to drive again after 20-30mins that message disappeared but cruise control stoped working. Currently engine and steering work absolutely fine but almost nothing happens when I press +/-/resume/cancel buttons - sometimes I only see "cruise control cancelled" after few seconds since I press + key.

Did anyone had similar behaviour?
Thank you in advance for help!

Rob

Youi've got a vaccuum leak, search this forum, there are likely 50000 threads descibing the fix.

Vacum leak? My X drove only 25000 miles.
Wouldn't it cause performance degradation and other warning / error messages? My engine works perfectly - even when I try kickdowns everything's fine.

nope not always. You still have a 6 year old car, open your hood, see if you can hear a hiss.

Today I checked sound of engine once again and I haven't heard anything
Cruise cancelled appears everytime I press press set + ...
Is there any cruise control sensor near breaking pedal? Maybe it causes some problems? What do you think about it?

See my post above, forget noise, #1 issue with no cruise is a vacuum leak from the above offenders, and if thats turns out to not be it those should be changed anyway if original. And yes there are 2 brake switches, 1 for brake lights and 1 for cruise. But if youre not pulling codes and guessing youre going down an unlikely road first
