Default cruise not available --- PROBLEM

hi ....
if anyone can help... here's my problem:

check engine light flashing on and off
and the following message comes up: "cruise not available"

i assumed "cruise" meant cruise control, but i tested the cruise control and it appears to be working

anyone know what this message means???
i've attached a picture.....

any ideas... please and thanks

Jeeesh, chill out.

I'm bumping the thread to the top of the pile so that hopefully some of our DIY gurus or techs will see it and jump in

Presumably you entered the XA type section, used the search function adding " cruise not available" and read through the many many posts that instantly popped up??

you have a vacuum leak/s and its bad enough to cause the check engine light to flash. You need to search p0171, p0174 threads(there are tons) and fix all the known issues. regardless if its your issue becuase if not yet, it will be soon
