Damaged tyre bead-is it safe to drive?
Hi all,
Just found the bead of front driver side tyre was damaged, maybe from curbing. I will have a long trip to NYC tomorrow (>200 miles). So please let me know if it is safe to drive with such a damaged bead. I think I have already put more than 1000 miles on the car since this damage. Thanks!

yeeran, like Jim says, it should be replaced at the earliest possible time. But, based on the fact that you have already driven 1,000 miles with that, you can probably make the trip home and deal with it there. But, every mile you drive, you are raising your odds of a failure. If you are going to drive home, I would try and keep the speeds down as much as practical to minimize the amount of heat build up and also if the tire does let go, it will be that much easier to regain control.
