Default Dash Help!! Flaring up at vent (pics to show)

Hi Jag Fam,

Pics Attached

Need some wise advice to help me with my front dash near the bottom of the windshield where the vents are, it’s coming up!

Anyone had this problem and more importantly, have a solution to fix it with something strong enough to hold it down?

Thanks for the help guys! Love this forum, it’s like the Dad to my car lol

See where its splitting? Wrong vent covers but I have the other colour to match but need to fix this first!!! What type of glue or product? Thanks 🙏

😂

I had the same problem. Even worse peeling away than yours. I used PL400 construction adhesive in a caulking tube can. Be careful not to put too much or it will squeeze out. A couple of good sized squirts. Then I used like a doorstop. Triangle wedge with a soft rag wrapped on them as not to damage the dash or windshield. Let it dry overnight. I was surprised that it held mine down. But worked perfectly. Looks fantastic. I might have a picture.

I had this problem before, unfortunately it's the fitting problems of Jaguar; they made the clips to hold the vent covers too loosed it didn't hold tight after a long times in the Sun and cold. Only way to fix it is to glue it to the vent, you might worry about when it need to take it off for service, but most likely you might have to take the whole dash off if it need service..
