I have two annoying rattles, one seems to come from the top of the nav screen surround just under the hazard flasher button at about 30mph, then at about 40mph I get one that seems to come from behind the wooden trim over the passenger airbag. Anyone had similar, or can tell me if its difficult to remove these trims so I can investigate further as I want my Jag to be silent.

 

Before taking anything apart, check the vents at the base of the windshield as these are a common source of rattles. A few dabs of RTV between the vents and dash fixed mine.

 

I took the glove box out to find the source of the rattle and up under the dash is a metal plate above which is the airbag cartridge. When I tap the plate I can hear the rattle that I am trying to fix, its something loose in the airbag area. Does anyone know how to remove the wooden trim over the airbag on the dash so I can find out what is loose behind there.
