DECIDING TO STAY WITH JAGUAR NO MATTER WHAT UNTIL SUMMER

First I would like to apologize to the Forum, and the Mods for taking things way outta hand. I was very upset with my first dealership experience with Jaguar. I didnt mean anyone any disrespect or anything. So I decided not to sell my STR until Summertime. I guess I am going to man up and get to working on the HID problem myself if SE doesnt cover it. I am not going to get rid of my car bc of that. Besides thats too soon, I only had my STR for 2 Weeks so I still need time to enjoy my ride at least until Summertime when the prices go up, then I make a killing on asale. I will take my car to my shop and have them remove the bumper and take headlights apart. I will then put something in the assemblies so they can aim at one place. This should cost me no more than $60 to do this. I also seen some used ebay sets for $100-$200 but I figure since my headlights are working I just need to set the projector to one height so they wont point low. This might be the best solution to our HID headlight problems since they fail with the auto-adjustment. However I will get another car after my STR but not a Jag but Im gonna go back to Benz. But right now since I have my STR I will most definitley make this one of the baddest Jags I ever owned. So I will stick around on this forum until at least May or June when I sell the STR, thats my dedication. Alright so help me solve my HID pointing low problem, maybe yall can give me some sugestion on what I should put in the HIDs to make them stay in one spot.
Who gives a damn.
You've been banned from your precious mercedes forum so many time they are considering contacting your ISP. Funny how you just love a forum that has kicked you out more times than Aerosmith has had a hit song. Club Lexus has put you on permanent watcher status for the same bullshat you stirred up here, there, and at MB world that got you banned again and again.
Everybody got their first warning on you a few weeks ago and it took you record time to **** everyone off here that you pissed off everywhere else.

I can understand your frustrations..so hang in there..these folk here are great, and I believe everyone of them want to help through this problem with your headlights..I think if it is possible (I don't know) that it would be better just to aim them in a fixed position and be done with it..Now start enjoying that awesome R Jag ..Lucky *******
Good luck

Select Edition decided not to cover my headlights. So Im repairing them myself manually. I will add some metal or wire to make the headlights stand in one position. Why should I buy new assemblies if the ones I go works ?
Then again you are anwering your own question. Why would you buy new ones when the ones you have still work.
Then why would Select Edition buy headlamps for you either?

Hey FJT don't you think that should be covered under the se warranty? To me if its mechanically part of the car that isn't technically the dealer that adjusts it its the mechanism in the light that does it...right/wrong? Although other people probably would have gotten if fixed...attitude has a lot to do with what they fix and don't fix I'm sure!

The problem is Select Edition needs approval for any repairs over a set dollar amount. I think this varies from dealer to dealer (trust factor) and at basically a thousand bucks a side, they need to be approved. There is only one person that authorizes repairs at select.
Can they be replaced under select. Lets just say that every dealer, I am sure has done so.
Also, within reason...like if you are a couple thousand miles over warr. or a few months. Why even dick with SE. Talk to service manager about having Jag goodwill them. THey may pay for whole repair, they cover parts and you pay labour. That is why a good relationship with your dealer is important. As a tech I have gone to bat for many customers who are out of warranty and made repairs. If customers treat me well (not talking about tips, cause we don't get them anyway) for example.....having the decency just to ask how the day is going. Let me buy you a soda cause you working in the hundred degree heat etc. I will go above and beyond for those people and I can relate that to service manager. Opinions of the techs carry weight. On the other hand if some a-hole rolls in cussing at me or looking down their nose at me. I will do the bare minimum to fix vehicle for them. I definitly wont do things for free for them and if warranty wouldnt normally cover something, then you better cough up some coin to get it done.
I take great pride in what I do, and most customers can see that, so they normally are very respectful because their mind is at ease.
Ummm....lost the original question.....Oh, yeah....attitude is everything.
Mechanical parts pretty much are covered. If we still talking about Benz I am gonna scream. However, I told him to go to different dealer. Start over and say headlamp motors are broken. Dont mention levelling or aiming. Just act dumb and the dealer will try there best. But don't go in there acting like a moron. No one would want to help you.
Did that answer your question?

Over 16 years and Fords, Vauxhall, Saab, Audi and Jag dealerships I can honestly say I've never had a major problem. The few that have cropped up have usually been resolved quickly and efficiently.
Why???
I treat everyone with respect from the service reception, service manager, Technicians to the parts guys. A warm friendly approach always remembering their names makes them feel special and appreciated. When you get a questionnaire sent out asking how you think they perfromed, fill it in, or better still, do what I do. Take 10 minutes out your day and call and ask to speak to the service manager. Then tell him how well they performed and how friendly and efficient his staff are ( If they have been of course....lol) They love it, as any of us would and more importantly remember it and you as a customer. If anything the service improves even further from that point. As a bonus if sumthin doea go wrong and you have to complain, they usually jump thru hoops for you, big time because you are the guy that has complimented them in the past on how well they've done.
I find for sumthin as important as your car, its servicing and parts / warranty etc that at Xmas a bottle of wine £5 maybe? and a tin of chocolates maybe another £5 dropped in to service reception goes a longgggg way, is always remebered and appreciated. You get that back 10 fold I assure you.
Its not rocket science here............everyone likes to be treated with respect and appreciated. Basically, you get what you give

Yeah that answered my questions jft, I was more trying to get your answer to benz not for my own because I already know how it works. I worked for a construction materials company delivering building materials and I always knew what to do...if the customer was an **** I knew what we were supposed to do and not do. If the contractor treated me like a piece of crap well I did what my job entailed...if he treated me like I treated him hey I did whatever I could do to help...Unfortunately frombenz2jag seems to like having a rift with the dealers and probably caused the reaction on his own. He has ignored every single thing we've told him to do and only does what will get him the same "We're not covering it" result in the end. To me if the mechanicals of the lights are broken they should be covered. He must be doing something really special to the people of jag to get the result!
