The Definitive Coolant Bleed Procedure
Hi Folks,
I hope you're all well.
I am looking for a line by line guide to bleeding the coolant system, there are bits here and bits there, people being smart and others not so.
Basically I had a water leak from the water pump to the engine, i replaced the lost coolant, about 3 liters. I used the bleed screen on the water pump to expel air from that side of the system but my temp gauge on the dashboard is now showing 1/4. Strangely if i turn off the car and turn it back on again the temp shows the true temp in the mid position but then the gauge drops back to a 1/4 within seconds.
Please give a line by line guide EG:
Thanks Peeps

Please give a line by line guide EG:
- remove filler cap
- turn on car
- turn on heater to full

When I fixed a leak from my thermostat housing I just filled her up, let engine run for a little bit, filled to max and because she was on jack stands I lowered passenger side first (LHD), alot of air came out, then driver side and filled up again. No air, no leak, no problem.
