Default different headlight question?

I bought a 2004 X-type sport 3.0 today and I adjusted the proper level up and down, but I can't seem to find a way to adjust the projector left and right. My driver side light seems to aim a little too far inwards and I want to adjust it out a little.

I checked the bulb for proper mating to the case and it is in there correctly so something is out of whack.

Any ideas on how to adjust left to right aim?

thanks! I searched and only found threads on up and down aim.

I believe they're only adjustable up and down! Do you have any pics? You'd obviously would have to take them at night, so we'll be waiting for pics tomorrow!

Scratch the sport part, turns out the car does not have painted moldings.

Anyway, It's just a tad off to the right (more center). I should be able to catch some pics later today, but from what you tell me it seems I just need to go ahead and prop the bulb up slightly on the left side in the projector to manipulate the beam. My lexus and Mercedes have the same bulbs and I've had to manipulate the projectors before. My BMW was converted over to ZKW's and I added a Prolumen 4500k system to it, which I also had to manipulate the bulb position slightly.

(Seems I have no luck with projectors)

i really dont know about lef/ right aim. For a while my left headlight was pointed left but it was just not seated right, is anything in the mating surface bent or damaged in a way that it would appear well seated, but not??

No it's very well mated, and the pole is in the hole.

I actually tried to adjust them left and right also, no luck.. There is probably something in the owners manual about it.

Oh yeah, here is a link that is golden when looking for information or parts!

Do you have the OEM HIDs? If not, you can install them pretty easily. The factory headlights remind me of the OEMs in my old SC... After you install some HIDs you will really love the cut-off and beam output!

stock hid lights are 4.2k and all white. anything higher and you start to get the blue tint to the light. here is a pic a friend sent me that is a 6k hid light next to the stock halogen fog lights to give you an idea. mind you it is a different car, but you will get the idea. below that is a shot of his X witha 4.2k aftermarket hid kit installed. i will be getting a 4.2k set next month i believe. i think it just looks better.

I run either 4500 or 5k in my cars usually. Depends on the lens of the car. The mercedes does better with a 5k, but my IS300, and my BMW both did best with a 4500

The projectors on these are very much like an Sc400 so I'll likely be using 5k

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the X-Types projectors with HIDs. You will get a nice blue/purple cutoff and it will project, intact, much further than the SC. The SC is a bit brighter after adding HIDs though.

That's kind of funny since the Sc is dimmer before adding hid's.

OK here's a pic, I have dimmed the contrast so you can see the beam traveling across the road towards the passenger side of the car from the drivers headlight.

FYI, I also made sure the white locking knob that holds the projector was locked down properly.

hmm, I can't remember if mine were like that...I know that the two beams intersected at about 120ft.

It's still under warranty right? Oh yeah, you also get the first 4 services done for free my Jaguar. Might want to check if they were all done.

Be sure that they replaced the steering wheel bushing under warranty (if it squeeks when you turn)
