Simple just move the position on the stalk to manual.

Default Disable rain sensor

Thanks
The intermittent function stops working when it rains.I would be happy without the rain sensor if it worked all the time in that switch position.

With the column switch in the Auto position sets the wipers to auto mode. Move position to OFF. Then when you want the wipers just move to position 1/2 or 3. If these positions do not work then the stalk must be at fault, or the relay may be faulty.

I have a feeling that that the stalk is working correctly, but you find it frustrating to use as it doesn't seem to wipe when you think it should wipe. The stalk takes some getting used to and the intermittent feature can be varied to between 1 second and 22 seconds. Could that be part of it? Maybe check in the owner's manual on the operation as I remember it isn't exactly the most intuitive design.

Or do you mean that when it rains you cannot get the wipers to work intermittently at all and that they work continuously? If that is the case, then as the other poster said, just run them manually.

The handbook states that "the wiper lever must be in position 1 and Auto selected on the collar to enable automatic operation of the wipers".
The collar alters the wipers intermittent speed so rotate clockwise fully to be set at position 1. The lever should be set to OFF for the auto function to work. Simple really.

Why would the Auto wipers come on in dry weather. My only thought is that the Battery may need a change. I recall a few years ago that when my battery needed changing my wipers came on at ignition. These cars can do funny things with a low battery.

Default non functioning intermittant wipers

I know how the intermittent function is supposed to work,I have a toyota with that function
The original stalk does not have an "AUTO" position
I replaced the stalk from a working vehicle- No different
I replace the ECU and GEM modules and it still does not operate in the intermittent mode
Any other suggestions?

In that case, from what you are saying there probably will not be a Rain sensor as you only get that on Auto wipers or you have the incorrect column switch and require the one with Auto position.

Or.....the windshield may have been replaced without proper sensor or correct connection?

Nephew had truck windshield replaced and auto quit working, he took it back and they had installed a replacement without the proper sensor. Smfh, lol. He questioned their professionalism and how/why that could be accomplished by a company that does nothing but auto glass.
