Do I need Factory Lug Nuts for Aruba rims?
Discount Tire said I'm due for some new lug nuts soon and that I need to have factory Jag nuts for these 18" Aruba sport rims. Are there any aftermarket lug nuts that will be perfectly compatible with these Aruba rims? Anybody know why he said they needed to be the factory Jag nuts?
Thanks

Well I am not familiar with the wheel or else I could speak up, they are of course gonna recommend factory lug nuts. It could also be that the smaller sidewalls of the aftermarket ones will not hold your wheels on properly and I haven't ever had to replace lug nuts so that's odd, unless they have been over-tightened too many times by air guns and they are starting to strip but haven't really seen that either, overtightening sure

Arubas use the standard Jaguar wheel nuts. Do you still have the original two piece nuts? Meaning the ones with the tin "cap". The caps will get misshapen and fall off or make it hard to get your wrench on. There are aftermarket ones available. Just make sure you are getting the right thread pitch and the proper seat style with the washer. Most everyone has replaced theirs with solid one piece. Like Gorilla's, etc. Prices can vary greatly but the cheapest ones may rust quicker. Check out eBay for example:20 Gorilla Jaguar 12x1 5 OE Stock Factory Wheels Rims MAG LUG Nuts Chrome | eBay.

Do be careful with some cheap sets though....I have seen people post they broke off and could be dangerous.

Get single piece ones. I hear humidity can build up under the caps and cause them to expand and be very tough to remove. I actually think the OEM ones with the caps I have are a pain. No way I would pay $130 for any set of lug nuts.
