Dome Light Upgrade?

Dome Light Upgrade?
Hi Everyone,
I just picked up a dome light for one of my xtypes that had the garage door openers. I thought it would be a nice and easy upgrade. When I poped off the old one I noticed the wiring harness is different. There are several wires that go to the dome light area. Some are plugged into the existing dome light. There are also 2 or 3 small plugs that are not pugged into anything. Is there an adapter I can plug all the loose plugs into and have the single adapter I need for the garage door dome light and sun roof?
Thanks,
David

Btw, there are 3 (that I know of) different wiring connectors for the homelink type overhead console.

So, I just bought another one from Dr. Dome as my map light button broke again (3rd one now). Not a critical component of my car as I have only used it once so far in ownership, lol.
I don't know of nor have I seen any adaptor type harness that makes one for the other. I suppose if the donor car had the electrical connector, there would be someway to figure out the correct wiring (electrical under stickies on main page) to wire it to a different type light connector. Or if your actual (new to you) unit is the white connector like mine to plug in the electronics, I hazard a fairly involved disassembly of one like mine could be done and refit into one that had a different electronic hook up, if that makes sense. Looking at the back, they look like base (face plate installed) has circuit boards installed, then the back plate with the hook up plastic rivet melted together. Think it would be hard be doable with time a patience. If you want to give it a shot, you're welcome to have my old one bearing in mind in changing the components, you need to transfer the circuit boards with good buttons, to the backing plate with the white connector.

Just reread my own thread link post. Yeah it looks as though he got or had the 20 pin connector (goes into the white connection) and figured out from the wiring diagrams suggested how to wire it into the one like on your car from the different wiring locations instead of one central place. So, I guess if the donor car you got the homelink console from still has the pigtail, I'd snag it.
