Hello all, I a 2004 X-Type and LOVE my car, but lately a few
things have worn and broken down. It is at 89k miles and
just a week ago the driver side door handle broke. I went
to get out and like always pulled on the handle to open the
door, I heard something snap and fall down. Now the handle
flops and has no tension and will not open from the inside.
I have to roll down the window, unlock and open from the
outside.

I removed the door panel to see the problem. The spring is
broken as well as a small piece of chromed plastic. It is
all in the black mechanism attaches to the door, not sure
what its called sorry.

How do I remove and replace this???

Also, the button to rolls down the driver side window has
broken an just sits there floppily. If I push down just
right it works and the window can be rolled down and up.
Any idea where I can purchase?

I have the parts your looking for. I would have to look at the handle. I believe its a roll pin you have to push out but I am not 100% sure. As for the window button, What color is your interior? If you could get me the 3 letter code for your interior. Its on the drivers side lower right bottom corner of your drivers door where the doors meet.
