Door will not unlock with key
When I bought my Jag a few years ago, one of the problems was the key would not unlock the doors. It will always lock the doors with the key, but wouldn't unlock. I would have to wiggle it alot for it to sometimes work. So for a while I wouldn't lock my doors until I had a new alarm system installed where I can lock and unlock my car with remote control.
I was just wondering what would cause my key to not unlock the doors, but it locks it easily. Maybe the keyhole on door is dirty? Is there any ways to try to fix this?

Either the key or lock is not right for the other. I think they're the kind where any key will lock but only the right one will unlock - a bit weird but quite common. If your key works in the ignition (kinda must do) I suspect the door lock has been changed or is faulty.
Has some one previously changed the door lock? Ford Tibbe locks are designed to be locked with any Tibbe key but only unlocked with the correct one.
For instance, my X Type can be locked with the keys from my wife's Ford KA and vice versa.

The reason I thought the keyhole might be dirty is that when I first got the car it would sometimes unlock the door if i tried it multiple times. But now it doesn't seem to unlock anymore. So at one point it did work... I believe this is the original key and it does start the car up with no problem.
Is there a safe cleaner I can spray on the key hole?
