Default Door wood trim

I got a hell of a deal on the wood inserts for the doors.

Now the question is, How do these mount to the doors?

There are three tabs on the back.

This makes me think I will have to cut three slits in the door panel.

Then what, are there some kind of clips that hold it in place?

I am sure there is a Jaguar approved ( labor intensive $$$ ) method. I will opt for it if it looks like I can do it.

The shade tree mechanic in me tells me to snap off or bend over the tabs and glue it in place.

It's not quite that easy I'm afraid, if your doors didn't originally have the inserts then they lack the place for them and it's just one continuous surface. Here's a photo I found on eBay of a door card that has the place for the inserts but lacks the inserts themselves, you can see the matching mounting holes:

See this post (and the thread too) for info: Door Card Clips

Default Fixed?

I have recently bought 4 door Wood trims (from USA).
How did you mount yours?
Glued or otherwise?

I ended up trimming off the tabs and using silicone

Almost two years and no problem.

I have done this and I made holes on the protruding clips. Then cut the holes in the door panel and put in c clips behind holding the wood in place. I think it took me all of an hour for all 4 doors after I figured out what to do.

Good Luck,
The Dr!

Question

If I understand you all right, you first made three new holes in the door panel, then loosened the door panel , put your arm inside and fastened the three clips on the tabs on the back side on the door panel.

That is what Dr Dome did, I just snapped off the tabs and glued them on with silicone adhesive.
