Default Driver side Main beam (low beam) out

Hello, I have a 2006 X type. The head lamp (low beam) went out a week ago. I went to the local auto store and purchased a replacement for $90.00. I installed the bulb (not as difficult as everyone makes it out to be…..remove the nut holding the fuse box..this gives you a couple of more inches in which to work) When I tried it out…It did not come on.
I called the dealer and asked if it could be the ignitor box. They said most likely not…they said they don't sell or change too many of them so its prob. not the issue.
Question…..
Do you think it is the ignitor box? Wires look good. Box looks clean, not melted. What other issue do you think it might be?

If it is the ignitor box…where can I buy one at a good price? I see others say the dealer wants over $400.00 to do the job.

Thanks Guys

Tom

Is your side marker light or your blinker out too? My driver's side low beam was out along with my side marker and I found a broken wire going into this large plug. I soldered it back together and they all started working again. To get to it you have to jack up the car and remove the splash guard. It's up in the driver's side wheel well area.

Tom, before you start paying money for someone to look at it, try something for me. Open the hood of your car and access the fuse box. Locate fuses F29 and F30. Switch the two fuses with each other. Did the problem move from one side of your car to the other? If yes, then your problem is simply a bad fuse. Replace both fuses (as once one goes, the other is normally not too far behind) and call it a day.

If you are still having issues, let me know. If you want to take a multimeter to the car and diagnose it yourself, I can give you step by step instructions on what needs to be done. Please keep in mind that most likely we are going to be removing the headlight housing which will require removing the bumper cover. If you are not great with wiring, just say so. I can give you enough information that you can do this yourself.
