Default Drivers side rear door

Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone can help me? Okay I’m in the car all doors closed but on the screen it says drivers side rear door not closed and the interior light stays on. I have disconnected the interior light for now but can anyone shed some light on this matter what it is and how to fix it?
truly great full for any help.

Hayden

The most likely problem is a stuck micro-switch that show door closed. Open the door and flood the locking mechanism with WD-40. Then open and closed the door a few times. A cheap fix but might work. If not you will have to remove the lock assembly and replace the switch.

The switch is a normally open (door open, shows break in circuit) type. Thus, when door is shut, it "closes" the circuit, resuming the continuity = "closed circuit" = no door ajar warning.

Ford, but explains Avern's admonition to see if penetrate will free it up.

Glad to hear it worked. You have to take advantage of the cheap fixes when you can.
