Default Dual fan assy 04 X-Type

Notice a slight squeel from fan area after engaging A/C. Shop diagnosed A/C fan motor as the cause of squeel. Because this is a dual fan and shroud assy, I'm looking at $375.00 from dealer. Does anyone know if the fan motor can be rebuilt, replace separately, or a supply house that sells these thing cheaper? Thanks in advance for any help...new to Jags

Some can be rebuilt but you're not likely to find the right brushes. I would pull fan shroud and soak with motors with Wd-40. If you have the know how, i would pull electric motor out and add some grease to bearings as well.

If you can't do any of it....looks like you're out of luck. If you pay the mechanic to do it, your best bet is to have it replaced then (labor cost will probably exceed cost of new fan)

good luck

Hmmm...they must be using a different fan assembly that doesn't match the factory wires. All good i suppose if the dealer is involved. Too bad the price went up...should be covered under some sort of recall or warranty since it seems to be a factory fault in wires....

Good luck!

I questioned them on recall...no recalls on this. I have an extended warranty from service shield. A/C fan motor covered if in connection of another MAJOR A/C component failure, Which make no sense to me. It would cost the company more if fan failed and cause problems to other components. Thanks for the input!

This one is a Jaguar fan assembly taken from a salvage car.
