Im new to this so bear with me. I have bought an X type 2.5 se The owner said that the instrument panel needles had just that day stopped working(all lights come on and all diagnostics and test show fine) everything else seemed to work fine. I had an experienced mechanic with me at the time and we felt it may just be water in the fuse box or similar after it was washed. I drove it home and all was fine apart from main beam was not coming on. I had a look under the bonnet to see it any fuses had gone etc and noticed that some one had jumped a wire from main beam relay to the empty slot in the auxiliary instruments relay top slot nearest the windscreen.

Unfortunately I didn't notice it until after I pulled the out the relay so I don't know where to put it back.

now now full beam or indicators!!

Now Ive had a mechanic friend look at the car check all fuses cleaned earth points (ones we can find ) check relays.

Yesterday we managed to get indicators working but when he started to replace the cowling they went again

I thinking theses are two separate issues ? could they be linked.

I did notice that when you turned the engine on the windscreen wipers came on for a moment.

can anyone help please ....starting to feel ive bought a donkey and wasted a load of cash
