We are working on a 2002 3.0 x-type that was towed in for a massive coolant loss. Down almost a gallon. Pressure test held both cold and hot, but we pulled the intake and the engine valley is full of coolant. Is it likely the water pump outlet metal tube is leaking? Intermittently?

You can see the stream just above wherethis tube bolts on. Never thought of a camera as a diagnostic tool !

 

Looks like he water rail is leaking there. I am trying to look at picture on phone LOL
I will look again when I get home.

Yup! Simple o-ring. Showed up with the camera just in time to find the tech looking sheepish and saying "nevermind" [&:]

Just got home. And was going to say pull the pipe off and change seal.
