Default End links? Metal vs. plastic.

So I'm searching eBay and I find some front sway bar end links listed for 02,03 X-Types and I notice they're metal, not plastic. Does anybody know how/why Jaguar went from the metal end links to plastic? Has anybody had any fatigue issues related with the metal vs. plastic? Thanks!

I wish I knew, I replaced front metal ones a few weeks ago. Mechanic said the metal ones were better over the plastic so he got those. Few weeks later same problem, or at least its the rear this time.

Thanks. What was your original (and your new) problem, if you don't mind me asking?

Hard to explain, the car would 'creak' anytime it went over any bumps. If one wheel went over a bump or in a pothole, entire front creaked. They were replaced and car was smooth again, no noise, stiffer suspension it felt like.
