Default Engine Fault Gearbox Fault Limp mode 03 X Type

So my father has gifted me his 2003 Jaguar X type automatic. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer so would really like to get this thing running ASAP. Currently stuck in limp mode showing Gearbox fault and engine fault.. throttle angle sensor P1573 is the code and I got a P1299? read that it could be the TCM being wet possibly? Or could it be a bad sensor that’s actually connected to the throttle body under the hood? Please help

Check the connector on the throttle body that has two wires in it. It’s on the bottom side but can be seen and got to very easily without removing anything. That connector is very bad for becoming brittle and falling off. Mine did just a couple days ago and those same faults showed up.

YES, they look like CRAP. I pulled them out along with the gunk and rubber housing that wasn’t worth a damn. It has no connector piece on it just the wires. I put electric cleaner in there and plugged them back in. Still nothing, I ordered a new throttle position sensor so hoping that works. If the connectors are rustyish should they still work? Thanks for the reply and info I really appreciate you going out of your way.

They should be clean and silver looking and snug. Rusty and not clean and tight will cause it to either not work or will cause the ecm to get false readings
