Error p1384. Malfunction of electromagnetic valve 1
Hello! Please tell me, I have a question about this error. P1384. On which side is this valve, if possible on the engine diagram, I will be very grateful!! X type 2.1 2007 petrol
Your are looking for a solenoid, not a valve...:
The P1384 refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) solenoid of bank A (or bank 1, which is the same.
Generally, if a V-engine is mounted "normally" in a car, bank A is on the left, when looking at the engine standing in front of the car.
Bank A (=bank 1) is where cylinder 1 is - that's just a note aside.
Since the engine is twisted in the X-Type, i.e turned 90° to the right, bank A is now on the far side (when standing in front of the car), i.e. near the fire-wall.
Or to play mind-games with you:
Bank A is still on the left, when you are standing in front of the engine - but to stand in front of the engine, you have to stand on the RHS of the X-Type...
Before you start now pulling out the VVT solenoid or order a new one, check if the connector to it is connected and if the wiring to the connector is OK.
PS: And you wanted a diagram:
This is the Bank A valve cover for 2.5L / 3.0L X-Type and S-Type. I could not find a picture of a 2.1L cover, and my own 2.1L is properly covered of at the moment...
Maybe this is also the 2.1L X-Type cam-cover. Circled in red is where the VVT solenoid goes.
