Exhaust Flex Pipe

Exhaust Flex Pipe
Hi guys,
A couple of days ago I noticed that there is a weird noise coming from underneath with the revs about 1.2-1.5k. It sounds like metal ***** in a can. Nothing criminal yet, but a little bit annoying.
Yesterday I tried to find the reason of this noise and most likely the exhaust flex pipe is bad as when you knock on it hard - a "light version" of the sound appears.
Funny though but the flex pipe looks like new outside, huh.
There are no original flex pipes for sale as it comes with the middle muffler entirely, which costs $430.
I do not really want (who does? LOL) to spend almost $450 because of this stupid problem. So maybe somebody knows if it's possible to cut the flex pipe and to weld a new one?
Or maybe somebody knows another solution of this problem?
Thx in advance and have a great weekend!

Any decent muffler shop should have a generic flex piece that can be welded in place of the factory one. These are used on a lot of vehicles these days. A universal 2.5"x12" long (has 8" of flex) flex pipe runs $24 on e-bay. That should be fairly close to what your car has on it now. Any muffler shop would be able to cut out the old one and weld that in. The only "issue" you may have is whether they will install parts that are something that they didn't sell. Normally if you have a part that they don't carry, then they will install. But, do not be surprised if they tell you that you have to buy their part. To install something like that should be under $100 in labor.
