Extended Warranty Programs?
I purchased Ex. Warr on '06 when I bought. Factory War. until May '10; ext. until '12. Extends the factory warr. Absolutely get when you buy. Jag owners know how to take care of their cars and dealers know it. But don't do anything foolish like my buddy and his 04 X. He left sunroof open in a rainstorm. $1000 to clean. This could also lead to other problems not covered.
Ouch.
Ouch.

I have had no luck finding a trustworthy company for my wifes 02 X Type. I used to deal with a company called Heritage when i had a 98 Land Rover, they must have spent $6,000 grand in warranty repairs on that car, they were excellent. Sadly they went out of business.
johnnyinus,
Lojack is a theft deterrent product not an extended warranty. Lojack cost me a
onetime $700 charge to install in my new 04 S Type R. I'd be suspicious of that salesperson!!!!!!!!
My Jag extended warranty runs out 9/10 and I'm in need of extended warranty.
Good luck to us.

You should be able to purchase an Easy Care warranty at your local Jaguar dealer or perhaps online. Easy Care (goes by several other names) does offer warranties on used cars, including Jaguar. The company is owned by Ford but also does warranties for other makers like Honda.
AAA also offers extended warranties on used cars.
Price will depend on mileage and year and the level of coverage you select.
If you do get one, read the fine print closely so you know exactly when it expires.

We have had Easy Care on both Jags we have owned.
I just kicked in to ext warranty on my 06 STR a few months ago.
They require that either the car has been maintained at the dealer for warranty or sched services (oil changes etc.)OR the dealer does an inspection prior to allowing the warranty, they will do this for about $150.00.
The year and mileage will determine how much you will pay as well as how much coverage they will provide. The lower you choose a deductable the higher the cost(obvious)I go with a $100.00 deductable.
We have been very happy with Easy Care and like the fact that I still can get my repairs at the JAG dealer. Some ext plans name the facilities you must use and don't generally allow the dealer.
Call your dealer and get the info.

Styperowner,
You sent me a PM requesting info about the extended warranty on my 2002 XKR (not from Jag dealer) and when I try to respond, I get a message back that says you have chosen not to receive PMs or you are not able to receive them. If you send me your email address or change PM settings, I'll send you the info on the warranty I got.

I bought my 2002 XKR-100 in Dec. 2008 so it was 6, almost 7, years old and had 50,000 miles on it. I was able to get coverage for 4 years or 50,000 miles for $2800. Finanacing was about $550 down and $125 a month for 18 months and I got a $200 rebate for a net of about $2600. The warranty has a $100 deductible per occurence. Recently, my mechanic found that my valve cover gaskets were leaking and I had two transmission leaks; one at the extension housing seal and another at an electrical connector. The cost to repair those two things was $1100 and I paid $100 total. My mechanic said the company was easy to work with and authorized the repairs and payment without delay or hassle. He was impressed. The warranty covers everything from seat motors to major engine components including the supercharger. Radio (up to $300 only) and navigation system are included on mine. They pay for towing up to $100, if needed, up to $30 per day for a rental car if your vehicle is in the shop more than a day and up to $100 replacement per tire for road hazzard damage and $20 per tire for repair. Also, meals and lodging up to $75 per day if you are more than 100 miles from home when the car breaks down. The agent I worked with was very accomodating and emailed me a PDF copy of the warranty I was looking at before I purchased it and also sent financial rating information about the issuing company. (Company is rated A by AM Best).
They require that you have the car serviced by the manufacturer's requirements, but not necessarily at the dealer and you can choose where to take the car for repairs and service as long as they are a licensed repair facility. If any one wants to see a PDF copy of the warranty, a copy of the AM Best rating for the company, or have questions, just PM me. The repairs have to be authorized beforehand and they pay the repair facility directly.

Another S Type owner interested in an extended warranty. I'm covered until November, but there must be something that makes sense. The dealer I purchased my car from (not a Jag dealer) offered one for $2400. I didn't bite, so he said, "Well how about $1900?" Nice, huh? Let's keep this board up to date in the event we find something reliable. Most of what I'm reading simply says, "Do your homework."
bought ext. warranty in 2007 for my X-03 - and only used it to change the oil pan which only had a dent a week after i bought the car - jag charging $1300 - it was covered under $2000 ext. warranty offered by dealer. Never used it again and already expired -
My 04 STR warrr. is due in Sept. and still looking. Two items:
1-If anyone comes in contact with the company Access Warranty be warned, they are a pressure sell org. with problems. Check them out for yourself at www.la.bbb.org and search their name. I was finally offered a 48mo/100,000mi $100 ded exclusionary (called titanium) similiar to Jaguar One ext warr. for $5,555 after starting at 36mo/36,000mi at the same price. I'm still looking.
Has anyone had experience with them?
2-On your posts, please include the warr.company, cost, term, mileage and your rating for any ext. warranty you have or have had so we can gauge the relative value of all warranties.
Thanks & Good Luck (to us all)

After reading this thread I decided to look into getting the Easy Care warranty. what A Joke! I called 4 times and never did get to talk to a "Warranty specialist". you will talk to people who will collect all your personal information then they require you to let a" warranty specialist" call you back. when I refused to give them a number to call me at work, they said the specialist could not call me back. what A SCAM to get your personal info.
