Default Family Vacation with the Jag

So my family and I just got back from a trip to see relatives and to the Mall of America. The great news is the Jag ran wonderful; averaged roughly 24 MPG on the interstate (I thought these cars only got 20 on the interstate) for the thousand mile round trip.

The one thing that kept bugging me was the A/C recycled air - it would stay on for 20 minutes or so then would change back to fresh air mode. Has anyone else had this problem; or is it not a problem and just the way these cars are made?

srwedd, if you simply hit the recirc button for a second or so, yes, the recirc will only last for a short period of time. If you press and hold the recirc button, it will lock the recirc in until you restart the car again. You will see the icon that appears on the display change once the recirc is locked in.

When you hold the recirc button in you should also hear a beep when it sets.
As for mileage I get get 30+ on more or less level terrain and on our trip from Nebraska to Virginia this spring got 25mpg through the West Virginia and Virginia mountains and 31+ between Nebraska and our first over night stop in Illinois. I get between 17 and 21mpg in town depending on how much I get on the throttle from the lights.

it is the way they're made....I keep my climate control on auto for the most part so it normally stays on recirc.

Thanks for the comments guys. After looking at it again I did find if you press and hold the re-circ button it will stay on until the car is turned off.

I agree - Thermo is like the Dos Equis guy - the most interesting Jag man in the world.
