Fan Runs After Shutting Off Engine

Fan Runs After Shutting Off Engine
I just ended a long drive (four hours) and I noticed something for the first time.
I shut my car off and the fan in the cabin kept running. Is this normal? I'm almost certain it has never done this before. Usually when I shut mycar off, the fan shuts off immediately too.
I was afraid to leave the car after this, so I put the key back in the ignition and turned it one position to the right (just turning on the battery, not the starter), and the fan turned off.
I experimented onceby starting the car and shutting it off again. The fan kept running. I turned the key one-position to the right, and the fan shut off.
Question#1 Is this normal? Is the fan supposed to keep running after you shut the car down (after a long drive)?
Question#2 If normal, I'm assuming it's safe for me to leave and that the fan will stop running on it's own eventually. True or False?
Thanks.

RE: Fan Runs After Shutting Off Engine
Sounds like itsthe tinyfan which carries on running in humid conditions to circulate the air so you don't get blasted by warm air when you use your climate control. It circulates air across the humidity sensor.
It keeps running for a while after you switch off, and starts again
when you open a door. It does this so that there is less delay in
getting the climate control to the right setting when you switch on
(or restart )
