My X is just shy of 90k miles and I had to take it into the dealer today for the first time since I bought it used 4.5 years ago. I found a nice puddle of antifreeze under the car after work last week. Put the car up on ramps to try and determine where it was coming from. I was hoping it was coming from one of the radiator hoses, but unfortunately it looked to be coming from the back of the water pump. The dealer confirmed my suspicion this afternoon. So new water pump, gasket, fluids, etc. and had them replace the belt on that side and I'm looking at $630. OEM equivalent parts online are like $130 for everything. Water pump sits right on top of the engine and is on the easier side to get at. If it hadn't turned so cold outside I might have done it myself. It doesn't look to be that big of a job. Just for comparison, if anyone else has had a water pump job done I would be interested to see how much the job cost.

Anyway, maybe I'm just lucky, but 1 unscheduled dealer trip in 4.5 years and ~50k miles I can live with. To be honest this has been one of the must reliable cars I have owned.
