ive a quick question if anyone can help. the passenger side hood release cable has popped off the upside down c shaped bracket on the hood latch. ive gained access but when I reattach the steel tip ball to the latch it pops right off when I attempt to pull the release on the inside of the car. do I have to remove both cable tips and reattach working it back from the passenger side or it is a case of needing a new cable/ latch?

robi, it is sounding to me like you need a new cable. Odds are, the lead end of the cable has been deformed and can now be pulled through the opening. Otherwise, the other answer is you simply are not putting the cable back into the mount like it should be and that is allowing it to pop out.
