Hi all! Been a while since I posted on the forums so here it goes. I currently still own and a drive an 05 X-Type 3.0 Sport and it's been maintained very well by me. The problem is, I really want a manual transmission and I don't really want the 2.5. So I stumbled upon this!

02 Jaguar X Type 3.0 Sport *** RARE 5 Speed

I know that there are some differences between the 05 and 02, what should I look for/be worried about for this X-Type. Let me know, thanks!

 

Mine's a 2.5 and it is more than a bit underpowered with the AC on during the hot Florida summer.

But in the winter, it's a joy to drive. 0-60 was supposed to be in the 7 second range. I believe it.

 

Yeah...I often wish my 2.5 5 speed was a 3.0. So much in fact that in about a year or so I'm going to start getting a 3.0 ready to drop into mine, since I have 176k+ miles on mine...

I don't know if there is anything special about the early model x types though, other than the normal things you looked for when buying your 05. The manual trans are said to be stronger than the autos so as long as it shifts smoothly and doesn't grind it should be good.
