Just broke my front passenger side speaker grille (2004 Xtype), black mesh with chrome trim; but am having the darnedest time finding a replacement. Does anyone have a part number I could search with or a reputable place to help find a replacement? Thanks...

 

Hello John,

JEPC shows the speaked grille as part of the "door casing" or door panel.
Color of the grille coordinates with the door panel. The grille probably has a part number inside. You could check that. Probably part number followed by the trim code.
I have grilles for an ivory interior but no match. Try carparts.com (used). Some of those guys are great, some won't give the time of day. I recently had good service from the one located on I-55 in Ill.

The speaker grille is fitted to the panel, I had the same problem when I first got my X type, you cannot get replacement grilles (at least not here in the UK) and so have to replace the door panel instead. The complete door panel fixtures apart from wood panel are all heat welded. Best of luck

 

When I purchased my 03 Xtype a few months ago on the of items that needed to be repaired was a broken clip or so I thought. It turned out that I the panel was all on piece (except the wood trim which was mentioned) and it also included the speaker mesh.

I purchased mine from a company in CT that specializes in Jag parts - used.

Everything was great with it except it came from a smokers car (no offense to those who smoke but the stench was horrible).. well after MANY cleanings... all is much better.

I am sure you can find a grille after market and you could get it on the door but it won't have the same look.
