Default Front End Noise-NFG!

Over the weekend, my X-Type started making an interesting "humming" noise. I just added the Mina exhaust (very mellow and adding a nice bump in gas mileage too), Sport springs and XF 17" wheels with new Continentals, replacing the very old Pirelli's on the car. The changes really improved the car. My "new" X had been a retiree's car, having been driven just over 12k miles the past 7 years. It's had a few little minor things needing attention but it's a really good-looker/nice-driver.

Anyway-the noise grew louder so I pulled into my local go-to shop and put it up on the lift. We found the front axle boot on the driver's side was worn/torn and the front wheel bearings needing replacement. So a low-mileage, "sitter" has its issues too. I'm replacing the axle boots and both front wheel bearings, which obviously deteriorated due to lack of use/drying out. Back in the saddle in a few days.

Can you actually get replacement boots? I have a torn one on my passenger side but I can only find axles, not boots. Btw I have the Mina exhaust too, I also took out the middle resonator, sounds great.

Default Going the full route...

JUSTINK-i should have clarified my remarks-I'm going full axles with boots on both sides. We probably could get boots alone but since it's more timely to get the car back on the street and I'm a stickler for "do right first time" for both. I budgeted for some fixes so I'm prepared for these pieces.

oh ok. That's my plan too, especially since my car has almost 170k miles on it. I'd like to replace all the axles and wheel bearings some day.
