Question Front stabilizer link replacement 05 x-type

I was replacing the brakes and rotors and noticed the stabilizer bar link had separated from the bottom bolt. The car has the fiberglass/plastic links installed on it. I pressed the link back onto the "ball" and it held, but i'm going to replace both lft and rt links asap.

My question is this. I noticed when I went to order the parts there are both the plastic link and a metal link available, both about the same price. Is there an advantage to replace the OEM plastic link with a metal link ?

jeff: My 2002 came from the factory w/ metal sway bar links, front & rear. A front linkage developed minor play in a ball joint at ~100 Kmiles, causing an annoying tapping noise over small bumps. I replaced the metal linkage with a plastic linkage because plastic cost less and was locally available.

Can't say I've noticed any difference in the handling, so my vote is they're interchangeable, and it's a personal preference. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info, I was kinda figuring that since the descriptions didn't say OEM upgrade with the metal ones.
