Default Fuel pressure sensor

Hi all
Here's a good question for you .... Could a faulty fuel pressure sensor (or wiring to) effect the results of injector leak-off tests?

Well it is a fuel pressure sensor to the injectors. On some parts sites they call it a fuel injection pressure sensor. Usually if the sensor is going or fails, you'll get the low fuel pressure code (p0191? I think from memory). I hesitate to think logically that it would "affect" a leak down test of the injectors.

Here's an alternate part number if you replace it.

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
What I was hinting at was if the fuel pressure sensor/wiring was faulty causing over-pressure in the fuel rail, could it create an excessive leak-off ?
I was surprised how bad the injectors seem to be after a recent leak-off test considering I replaced them 2 months ago with re-con units !!

Kit is 22-42£ in UK6 Cylinder Injector Flow Meter Adaptor Set Common Rail Leak off kit

Yeah, if they are bad that quickly, I think I'd be raising hell with the vendor.

Over pressure on the fuel rail should cause RICH running mixture and trip a code from the cats. Over pressure should not cause a leak by on and injector. When the injector is pulsed it would be to rich but when closed should not leak by unless the pressure is very extreme. A pressure the pump can't produce.
Your injectors are not working properly. Go back to vendor.

Many thanks for all your replies.
I sense the opinion favours the injectors rather than anything else.
I'll chase the seller for an explanation as soon as I can ... I have photo's of the leak-off test and they don't look good.
I'll keep you posted.

I do indeed have a P0191 ECM fuel pressure regulator BUT also a P0200 ECM injector circuit malfunction.
I suspect the circuit malfunction would cause the P0191.

Cause =
P0200 Injector circuit fault
Blocked, kinked or crushed fuel return lines
Injector supply circuit: short circuit to ground
Injector supply circuit: short circuit to power
Injector resistance correction invalid
Engine control module (ECM) fault

I've decided to change the pump and all injectors ... I'm suspecting the pump as the car has done over 132000 miles. Could be that some crap from the pump has got into the injectors, thus the results of the leak-off. That could make sense with them being re-con units. I can get a good deal on all parts.
I'm also having the ECM module tested (again) as it has many DTC's on it relating to the ECM, injectors among others.
I've only got 5.37v on all the injectors. I've replaced some cables on the hrness leading from the ECM after a couple burnt out, I'm in the middle of pin to pin testing on the harness now.
THEN, I've got to weld 2 new sills on it .. that is another story for later.
