Default Fully disabling DSC?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any way to fully disable the DSC system? I have a 2.2d and it's consistently throwing DSC errors, considering the condition of the rest of the car no logical person would put any more money or effort into fixing what's wrong, what I'd like to do is disable the DSC completely and as such get rid of any errors being reported so I can drive it for the remainder of its life (<1 month!) without having to be in limp mode 24/7.

Any help appreciated!

Hi, First have yoiu tried a hard rest. Disconnect the battery and touch the leads together for a few minutes then reconnect the battery and the vehicle will do a full reset of all modules.
If this doesn't work then you need to read codes.
You cannot disconnect the system as it is part of the ABS.

Wait, so if I disconnect the ABS I can remove the DSC? Will this cause some additional electrical issue like the car not starting because it is disconnected?

No but you will be driving a vehicle that would be classed as unfit for the road.
If you have the equivalent to the UK MOT then it will be a fail.

Because racecar. It's towed everywhere. So back to eliminating DSC via losing ABS. Is it possible to do this without a major electrical issue? Our last race we lost 90 minutes and about 20 positions due to a DSC error that I would like to prevent.

Now you have got me. Did not know you were racing it.
Looking at the schematics there are 2 fuses . Fuse 41 (60 amp UK)and fuse 2 (5 amp UK) in the engine fuse box. These power the abs/DSC module and wheel sensors. Removing the fuses may disable the system but you may still have an EML as it is part of the Canbus System.
You could try to see if it goes into Limp home.
If you had a JLR/SDD mongoose code reader you may be able to disable it there but I cannot be certain.

Thanks you! I am in the market for a new code reader. I'll check that one out. At one point our car wouldn't start. Someone pushed the stability control button by chance and it started right up. Maybe the issue is related to those fuses as well.
