Default gearbox fault

Hi I'm a new member and have an issue with my 2004 X Type. I'm getting a gearbox fault. The car will drive is a safe mode but I'm worried I will hurt the car if not fixed. I removed both modules and found them to be clean and dry as a whistle. I watch a Utube video that showed how to do this. Any suggestions for the next step?

You can try changing the fluid, I did not have a fault but it made the shifting a ton better.

Have you checked that your battery is strong and in good shape and terminals clean as well? I've read that a less than excellent shape battery can cause faults like gearbox.
