Global open not available on my model?

Global open not available on my model?
Took my 05 x type to the dealer today for new suspension parts. I inquired about global opening on the key fob. The dealer had the mechanic look into it and told me that my x type does not have that feature available to turn on. Is there truth to that?
I thought they all had it, however some had to be activated.
