Grill issues
About three years ago I had a mesh grill inserts installed on my X type and it looked good! However the original grill must be cut to insert the mesh. Recently I have noticed that the chromed plastic grill frame mounts are breaking away. Our Utah roads can be rough on vehicles at times. So now I need to find a replacement grill and imagine the mesh will have to go away as cutting the 'fins' out apparently causes structural weakness. It would be nice if the frame were made of metal instead of plastic, does anyone make a tougher metal grill for the X type? The chromed plastic parts on my X type are all going to need replacement sooner or later. Any information would be most appreciated.

Why not poke around and come up with the actual OEM version of the mesh grilles?
I think 2008 is the only year they used them, but you would have to research that.
On the other hand, a replacement surround and your current mesh grille would be likely a much less expensive option.
Mina Galleries has some really nice selections, but they are pricey. If they warranty them well enough, that could be a viable option, too.
