It is the message this morning i found on my X-type 2.0 D 2004
when i tried to turn on the car.
Anyone had same matter?
Car is stopped and there is no possibilities to turn it on.
battery is ok.
it seems like security system hasn't been disabled.
Awaiting for feedback.

Sorry ItalianJag,
I think I sent you on a goose chase there as the link ends with the guy not being helped, but it's misleading as the thread seems to have not been closed.
What I can say, unless there's been an attempted theft or illegal tampering is you can try the keyfob which I think is to blame or failing that, after checking fob is clean and battery is good:
Check all doors, bonnet and windows are all functioning, by the way do you have any life in the car, and are lights working? There is a breach of security and I think the integrity of the car has been upset. It, I think is a simple fault.
If you try to start what are the symptoms and are there any warning lights on?

OOps, Italian Jag, I mean't to say to check the boot is closing cleanly too.
As I said I think the problem is elementary and I would have a good all round visual of the car too, including wheels and tyres.
Good Luck !
Ciao, Stu

Guys, you will get more answers if this were posted in the X-Type forum.

I will ask a mod to move it. Please put your technical threads in the relevant model forum, the regional forums are for things specific to the region.

Real robbery form Jag dealer in order to solv my matter.
1) changed battery, in my opinion un-necessary action,
2) re programme security system 530 eur really incredible
in order to change battery to reprogramme security system
they need 4 hours.

This is the reason why Italy is not a good market for Jaguar . . . what a pity . . .

Sorry to hear that Italianjag!
Hope you are back on the road soon and wish you luck in finding an alternative garage, by the sound of it!
All the best! Caio, Stu

Many thanks for your support Stu.
In any case i wrote an email to Jaguar Italy
in order to have some expalnation about
how many hours they need to change a battery
and reprogramme security system.

I changed battery, on my onw, to my daughter's car last month,
I need 15 minutes no more, and i'm not a professional mechanic.

I'll let you know Jag answer
Ciao and have a nice Weekend
