Handbrake Issue

Handbrake Issue
Just replaced my rotors and pads today .Any one have any idea's why the handbrake is not as tight as what it should be .It is ratcheting up to near the max amount . It was doing this proir to the pad and rotor change .That is why i did the replacement the old pads were not to bad about 30% left on them.
How do you adust the handbrake ? My jag is an 04 .

John, you have an e-brake lever that is not engaging and it is causing the balance bar on the handbrake to lean, leading to this condition. You will need to look at the bar underneath the car (directly under the front seats, right after where the E-brake is visible from under the car). The side that is more towards the rear bumper is your problem side. I have had this issue twice with my car. If you play with the e-brake lever on the caliper itself, you will feel it binding up and not moving properly.

Your Information on the Hand brake issue i was having was dead on.It was my passenger side which was binding up .Got it working fine after about half a can of WD40 and working it back and forward for about 30 times it is a loose as a goose. Now my cat looks and stops great.
