Default Head unit codes

Does the code for the Alpine head unit get lost when the battery is disconnected without a power bridge hooked up to my 07 X-Type? I am guessing that is why no sound is coming from any of the door speakers, but it took me a while to connect the dots. Thought I would poll the experts before I go out and buy new speakers. Thanks.

What does your radio display; does it ask for a code?

Nope. It displays the time and it turns on, but no audio output except thru the tweeters.

The head units in the US usually don`t require a code.
As the tweeters are working I would say you have another issue

First check fuses F20 (30A) and F44 (15A) in the passenger fuse box then connections. Take a look at the amp behind the drivers side rear light. check that it has power

Because you are getting sound, but only out of the tweeters, maybe when you disconnected the battery the radio settings went to the original default mode. Try going to the settings and adjust the bass, treble, subwoofer, etc.. Maybe it just sounds different from what you were used to because the settings you had adjusted the radio to were lost when the battery was disconnected.

Thank you; for now I will keep these good ideas to try when I get my cat back from the shop!
